What’s involved in a Hairdressing NVQ?
The NVQs are work-based in the salon five days a week, with a minimum of two hours practical every week. However, our NVQ candidates are usually very hands-on and get the opportunity to do a lot more practical training throughout the working week.
A training provider will come to the salon to cover all theory and written work with you, whilst our team of expert stylists, colourists and barbers will cover all practical aspects of the training.
What’s more, we offer all students the opportunity to get involved with photoshoots and hair show preparation, giving you incredible exposure to industry knowledge and events. This type of experience looks great on your CV and will set you apart from other stylists.
What do you need to do an NVQ in Hairdressing?
All candidates are required to have a Grade C or above in English and Maths to qualify for the NVQ.
We offer two levels of NVQ:
Level 2 is our starting level and you’ll gain a full qualification in Hairdressing or Barbering
Level 3 is a more advanced level for students who have already passed the level 2 NVQ
